Project Execution and Roadmap Definition

I) Overview and Objectives

The project execution plan is a roadmap to how the project will progress through its various stages and phases.

The objective of the workshop is to develop an agreed upon project execution guide that documents key project parameters such as:

  • Project scope, vision and objective
  • Project Assumptions, Constraints and Alternatives
  • Stakeholder Communication Framework
  • Overall Project Milestones and Key Deliverable
  • Set project baseline (Cost & Schedule)
  • Define progress measurement and control framework

II) Workshop Structure

Experienced project and program managers, for the relevant industry, facilitate each of the workshops. Our workshops are comprised of six working session held over a three-day period and are carefully tailored to the needs of the individual project and the people involved.

These sessions are designed to progressively elaborate the project execution and roadmap by focusing on key fundamental aspects of the project and engaging the team and stakeholders in an open dialog. The overall framework of the session is as follow:

  • Session One: Project Execution and Roadmap Definition and Objective Overview
  • Session Two: Contract Review and Scope Confirmation
  • Session Three: Risk Register Development (Constraint, Assumption and Alternative Identification)
  • Session Four: Project priority definition and Key Milestone identification
  • Session Five: Startup, Commissioning, Construction, Procurement and Engineering priority identification
  • Session Six: Project Schedule Baseline Framework

The workshop is designed for all key members of the project management team. This includes but not limited to:

  • Project Sponsor
  • Project Director and Manager
  • Managers for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Project Control
  • Discipline Leads

IV) Workshop Deliverable

At the completion of the workshops, the team will have a Project Execution and Roadmap Plan that will act as a project specific guideline for the project. Our clients utilize this document and further enhance the content to include project and organization specific information.

Our consultants provide further support by uniquely participating in internal reviews of the document to ensure proper flow and cohesiveness of the execution plan prior to finalization and issuing to the client for approval.
