Interactive Project Planning and Integration Workshop

I) Overview and Objectives

The overall project plan provides a formal document, which integrates the project scope into an actionable execution philosophy. The project plan is as a communication framework between the client, project team and all other stakeholders. The plan includes:

  • Project Schedule
  • List of Assumption and Constraints
  • Resource Requirement and Utilization
  • Progress Measurement Philosophy

 

II) Workshop Structure

3EDGE unique approach to pre-project planning that utilizes a structured and proven methodology that is built on practicality and cost effectiveness. This workshop is comprised of three sessions held at different phases of the project:

  • Session One – Proposal Stage:
    • The objective of this session is to develop the overall project plan that will be further utilized in the development of the project execution strategy and estimate. The session is facilitated by a senior consultant who specializes in proposal development
  • Session Two – Internal Project Kick Off Meeting:
    • This objective of this session is to develop the overall project roadmap in parallel to the project execution plan. This session is held prior to the kick-of meeting and is used as the basis for the development of further project schedule details
  • Session Three – Completion of the Project Bridging Phase:
    • This session is prior to the completion of 10% of the overall project. The objective is to review the schedule baseline Vs. actual and identify any gaps or variances along with corrective actions. By holding this session early, the necessary corrective action can be implemented without impacting the overall project end date with minimal cost implication.

III) Who Should Attend

The workshop is designed for all key members of the project management team. This includes but not limited to:

  • Project Sponsor
  • Project Director and Manager
  • Managers for Engineering, Procurement and Construction
  • Project Control Team (Project Controls Manager, Planners, Schedulers, Estimators and Cost Controllers)
  • Discipline Leads

IV) Workshop Deliverables

At the completion of the workshops, the team will have a Planning Document Basis will further be detailed as per project needs. The document will include:

  • Milestone Schedule for all Major/Key Project Events
  • Overview of Project Critical Path
  • Updates to Project Risk Register (Constraints and Assumptions)
  • Resource Utilization Matrix

Our consultants provide further support by uniquely participating in internal reviews of the document to ensure proper flow and integration of the project plan prior to finalization and issuing to the client for approval.
